Festival of Farming, Food & Wildlife

9th May 2012

The Countryside Restoration Trust (CRT) is organising a Festival of Farming, Food and Wildlife on Sunday 20th May from 11am to 5pm. The aim of the day is to promote a better understanding of the link between farming, wildlife and the food on our plate.

With free entry and parking, the festival will include food demonstrations by foraging expert Jacky Sutton-Adams, various local food stalls, a bread making competition (judged by the National WI President Ruth Bond), as well as sheep dog demos, tractor and trailer rides, farm walks, farm animals, children’s activities (story-telling, face painting, pond dipping, competitions, crafts and more!) and a refreshments tent.

The event will be held at the CRT's wildlife-friendly farm only 10 minutes from Cambridge. The farm in question is Lark Rise Farm, which the CRT has transformed over the past 20 years from an intensively farmed wildlife desert into a productive and profitable farm which now teems with wildlife.
