Elaine Spencer-White Bere Marsh Farm Manager Elaine Spencer-White retired in 2014 from a rewarding career anchored within the rural sector of both the UK and South Africa. Elaine returned to the UK from South Africa in 2000 after the foot-and-mouth outbreak, and became a driving-force for a part-EU funded project to research, launch and manage the production and marketing of food and drink for more than 80 farmers, growers and producers across 260sq. miles of the Somerset Levels and Moors. This was under the collective trade mark of Levels’ Best. The brand is thriving. Elaine's support for the CRT combines career knowledge and personal passion and concern for native wildlife, along with a sound belief that they should be mutually inclusive. She completed a 300-mile cross-country sponsored walk for the Gordon Beningfield Appeal to assist the “Dorset Dream” and is always on hand to help at Baber’s Farm in the Marshwood Vale and Bere Marsh Farm a few miles away on the River Stour. In 2020 she became a contributor to the South West Regional Focus Group as part of the nationwide consultation for a National Food Strategy chaired by Henry Dimbleby.
