The CRT was delighted to be accepted as an official partner of Giving Tuesday by CAF. This year #GivingTuesday offers the opportunity to #GiveBack2020 either by donating to charity, reaffirming commitment to a cause, volunteering time or supporting others by simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member. This year #GivingTuesday takes place on Tuesday 1 December 2020.

Make your pledge

This #GivingTuesday we want everyone to #GiveBackToWildlife.

As a charity, the CRT is pledging to #GiveBack to wildlife and we are committed to our overwinter feeding of wildlife on the farms.

We are encouraging you to pledge to #GiveBack to wildlife as well. You can either do this by donating to the CRT to help us achieve our pledge, or you can do an activity yourself.

Join in the Giving Tuesday fun!

We would love to see your pledges: please take a photo of yourself holding your pledge and post it to our social media pages or on our website. We want to create a wall of pledges and do not want to miss you out.

Here are some ideas to get you started!

  • I will GiveBack for my local wildlife and put safe leftover food out in the garden
  • I will wash my bird feeders once a month
  • As I am working from home, I will GiveBack the value of one day's commute to the CRT for bird seed.
  • Having date nights at home rather than in your favourite restaurant? GiveBack the cost of the meal to feed birds
  • I will GiveBack and photograph the wildlife in my garden and share on social media
  • I will plant some wildflowers in my garden and GiveBack to wildlife
  • I will complete an online course so I can learn how to identify wildlife
  • I will GiveBack my time and volunteer at my local CRT property
  • I will GiveBack and give a donation to the CRT for farmland bird seed
  • I will GiveBack and give bird feeders as Christmas presents this year

You can be as creative as you would like with your pledge, the more imaginative the better! Just remember to tell us what you have decided to do!

Competition Time

Giving Tuesday began in America in 2012 to give back after the well-known shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It was brought to the UK by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in 2014 with the aim of encouraging people to think of others in the run up to Christmas. It started online but has spread into ‘normal’ fundraising too.
