Awnell's Farm

220 acres
Orchards and grassland farm

This 220-acre grassland farm is situated in some of Herefordshire’s most beautiful countryside. The land and farm buildings, which include the cattle yards at Street and Redlands farms, were made over to the Trust by a deed of gift from David Powell in 2000.

David has retained the right to continue living and farming Awnell's Farm for as long as he wishes. The farm has a closed herd of traditional Hereford cattle with an ancestry dating back over 170 years. A wonderful orchard includes many old cider apple trees, some of which are 300 years old, making this an especially important farm.

Do you know the difference between a butterfly and a moth or a bee and a bee-fly?

Join our Herefordshire Wildlife Monitor Ruth Moss for a guided butterfly walk around our beautiful 220 acre Awnells Farm in Ledbury.

Learn to identify a range of butterfly and bee species, understand why record them on a transect and what this tells us about our CRT farm.

On the walk you will also get to hear about the Awnells Farm, our wildlife plans for the future and have the opportunity to ask Ruth anything.

Light refreshments will be available and you will receive a CRT pack to take away, along with a spotters guide to help you continue your new found skills when you return home.

Book early, we have a very limited number of tickets available!!

The guided walk is over farmland and may cover parts of rough ground. If you have any questions contact Sarah Wilberforce our Events Manager Here or by calling 01223 262999.
