Do you know where your food comes from?

Visit CRT’s flagship, Lark Rise Farm on the 14th July and discover how your food gets from field to fork!  A fun-filled family day with activities designed so all ages will leave having discovered something new! Only £1 entry for adults and ‘KIDS GO FREE’ this will be a great day to get the whole family out and about in the natural world.

Discover the huge number of creatures that call Lark Rise home, on a wildlife walk with Dr Vince Lea, Head of Wildlife Monitoring. Let the children explore the wonderful world of bugs and insects in the wildflower meadow patch. They can also have a go at making wildflower bombs so you can have your own wildflower patch at home!

Learn about the importance of wildlife habitats on Farmer Tim Scott’s farm and how they help on the amazing journey your food takes! From what sort of machinery he uses to plant the tiny little seeds, to how Tim and the wildlife keeps the plants alive and healthy. Find out exactly how your food makes it all the way from the field to your fork!

Tractor Trailer Rides

Did you know that on 27th October 2018, Lark Rise Farm hosted the 40th National Hedge Laying Championship? 100 competitors laid over 1km of hedges in just 5 hours! Local competitor, Tim Radford, from Barton was the 2018 Supreme Champion with his hedge laying skills in South of England style. Take a tractor trailer ride around the fields and see the variety of different styles of beautifully laid hedges and how much they have grown since!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Arable Farmer Tim Scott has been cultivating on our Lark Rise farm since the beginning of the Trust. Since then he has created a vibrant, working farm that is full of wildlife, for you to visit on this celebration of Wildlife, Food and Farming Open Day.
