Pierrepont is a 200 acre heathland farm near Frensham in rural Surrey, approximately one hour from central London. At its heart is a working dairy farm and an extraordinary collection of historic Grade II listed farm buildings, surrounded by idyllic countryside and wonderful wildlife.

The farm was kindly gifted to the Countryside Restoration Trust in 2006 by Jo Baker. The Trust are undertaking an extensive programme of restoration to the buildings whilst conserving the meadows, farmland and woodland areas.

The Pierrepont Project will bring about the conversion of a collection of redundant farm buildings to create a mix of food, office studio and craft units. Pierrepont already has an exceptional reputation for supporting craft, food and drink entrepreneurs with Tenant Farmer Mike supplying rawmilk from a robotic dairy and Frensham Brewary reviving local craft beer production with an award winning micro-brewary. The brewery have actually just relocated to one of the larger units, to cater for their brand new purpose-built tap room which opened earlier this summer.

Speaking with the Farnham Herald, Frensham Brewery owner Emily Stephens said: “It’s just lovely to have the tap room up and running – it’s been a long time coming, and once we’ve finished the new brew house the brewery will be complete. It’s very exciting. The tap room is a lovely little spot, and it’s nice to be where we originally endeavoured.

A key objective for the Old Dairy at Pierrepont is to attract tenants that share our ethos and values for the countryside, wildlife and farming. We are supportive of local family based businesses and new start-ups, especially businesses that link to sustainable food and craft production. We would be particularly keen to hear from businesses that would be able to utilise or connect directly with the dairy farm in some way and raw milk produced by the pedigree herd of Jerseys, which are at the heart of Pierrepont.

The Old Dairy development will create new ecologically sensitive workspaces for startups and SME artisan producers and craft makers with units providing:

  • Individual office area, kitchenette and access to DDA compliant toilet with greywater facility
  • 300 lux lighting and groundsource heat option*
  • Ample parking and space for deliveries
